So now I’m making videos

Partly because it’s often easier to talk about spiritual matters,
than type.
Partly because I like the sound of my own voice.
Partly because it’s a bit like preaching,
and preaching is christianly.
Partly so I can buy a sexy looking logo
and microphone.
And because when you write about things you think a certain way,
and it’s different from when you talk about things.
Hi Mathew you invited me to comment on your “year of living Christianly”. I am thankful that you are so open with your feelings. I feel that others need to see the kinds of struggles that Christians face throughout their journey in life. Although the Christian path seems complicated to some the premise is simple, application no so much. As Paul points out, “ the things that I want to do I don’t, the things that I don’t want to do, these are the things I do. Who can save me from this? Thanks be to the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave himself for me”. I speak from my own experience with faith and loss because that is all I have to go by. No person can see into the thoughts of another, that is reserved for God alone. I have no right to rebuke you because I am still working on the beam in my own eye. I have not reached a point to see clearly enough to get the sliver out of yours. I have no advice to give but I do have word of caution, be careful of offering advice.
The are some things that I would like to point out about your interpretation of “living Christianly”.
You say you are praying, To who, the unknown god? The Greeks did that. You say you are reading the Bible. We know that God’s Word does not return to Him void, but we also know that His Word is Spiritually discerned. There are many Christians that have no Bible. And another thing, we can not go to church we are the church. There is no visible church on earth. The church is every person that has the Spirit of Christ living in them. Christ is the only living person who actually knows who belongs to his church. Surely we know that no institution created by us is the church. Mohammed was taught lies by the leaders of the so called church. Constantine might have recommended a person’s execution if they didn’t want to attend his “church”. Whether church or mosque or temple, none of these institutions are Christ’s church. We need to look to Christ for the definition of living Christianly.
When He was twelve He was about His Father’s business. He gave Himself for others. He taught that if you want to do well for God then be a servant to all. Protect the weak, the fatherless and the widow. Remember the poor. Don’t judge others. Act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly before the Lord your God. To walk humbly before God we must believe in Him. To believe in Him we must accept the forgiveness that He offers through
Jesus Christ who is the Messiah. “Without faith it is impossible to please God”. To live “Christianly” a person needs to believe in Christ and give all of themselves for others. I fall short but I hope not to give up.
Love to you and yours,

Thank you! This is a lot to chew on, and it helps clarify my own thinking.
